Read up on the health hazard of this brand!!! Study found lead contamination Nov 07, 2009
By NCTejana A horrible skin reaction to a competing product led me to search online about allergies and face paint, at which point I discovered a newly reported study showing that many hobby-shop face paints (INCLUDING THIS BRAND) are contaminated with toxins such as lead and common allergens such as nickel. ***Alex brand Face Paints, in fact, had the highest levels of lead out of the 10 brands tested. with 43 times as much lead as the maximum levels permitted in the water supply.*** Before you use this product (or any similar ones) on yourself or your child, I highly recommend you read this report on the
(The report cited can be found by searching "A Report on Heavy Metals in Face Paints" online. It is a scientific report whose science was reviewed by researchers at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of California, among others.)

You need to practice with it before the event! Jun 09, 2009

I also was not so happy with this product, until i read the directions. It says that you might need water, and you DOOOO. Use it like you would a water color palatte and it works perfectly. The colors are bright and its easier to apply if you use your own make up brushes. Make up brushes (like for lip liner) also allow you to make finer lines. I bought it for my sons 6th birthday. It was fun and cheap and I did all the faces myself. I am going to buy another and use it for his Kinder Graduation Picnic.

Paints don't apply deep color Jan 02, 2009

My daughter broke this kit out and tried doing some face-painting with it. She reported that the white paint, once applied, hardly looked white at all. I saw the kids' finished faces and I thought the colors were very poor -- that is, they lacked color vibrancy and cover. None of the kids reported having a hard time washing off the paint, so that was good. But I think there are better face paints out there. In short, skip this product.

AVOID this kit! Oct 26, 2008
By noah thingortoo Maybe we had a bad kit, but all the paint was hard and unusable - plastic-like in its consistancy. We could not spread it until we broke it into small pieces (the paint was breakable - came off in small chunks) and tried, desparately (Halloween day) to mash it into some oil - and even then the coverage was terrible. Nothing redeemable about this product.
