| | | Think Scrabble® meets logic and you've got an idea for how this great family game works. Connect your tile to any of the twisting lines on the board and score points based on the point value of the tile you played, the place you played it and other neighboring tiles. This international sensation is new to the U.S. but a great new twist on an old favorite. | | | | | |

Very Fun and Creative May 01, 2010
By Chad S. Groen The basic idea of Loopit is similar to Scrabble only instead of forming words your forming a giant continuous line that branches off in many different directions. In the end, the board will look a bizarre maze with no specific starting point or ending point. Each tile has a line extending off at least two of its sides, and is worth between 1-8 points. On each turn, you play 1-3 tiles on spaces on the board that connect to the line(s) of the tiles adjacent to yours. After each turn, you draw tiles from a fancy blue bag so that you always have tiles on your tray. There are a wide variety of designs for the lines on the tiles, giving them different and unique looks. For example, some have loops, some have right angles, and some are straight lines(there are only four tiles though that are worth 8 points, and each one has a very specific design). Like Scrabble, there are many bonus spaces scattered throughout the board that can multiply your score if you play on them. In this game, they can multiply your score by as little as 2 or as much as 6. The game ends after all the tiles have been drawn out of the bag and either all of them have been played or no one is able to play their remaining tiles. At that point, the player with the highest score wins.
Overall, Loopit is a very fun and unpredictable game with lots of twists and turns (no pun intended). The quality of the materials that make up this game are top notch. It's easy to understand, it requires a lot of strategy, and, like Scrabble, it also requires a bit of luck. It really keeps your mind busy the entire game as you try figuring out the best places to play your tiles. You obviously want to score a lot of points on each turn, but you don't want to set your opponents up to do the same. I actually enjoy Loopit more than Scrabble. It does borrow some basic ideas from Scrabble, but the game feels completely different once you begin playing it. It's really creative and unique in its own respect (more so than Scrabble, I think), and it's a great strategy game that anyone can enjoy.

Great board game especially if you can't spell Aug 10, 2010
By Pepper I love Scrabble but my husband can't spell. Read about this game and decided to take a chance on purchasing it. Not only is it fun, it's challenging. Finally found a board game he likes to play.

Fun, unique game Jun 28, 2010
By ampel Really fun game! I don't know of any other game like it. I guess you might think of it like a visual Scrabble sort of, but it's much more fun and faster. My new favorite game.

Loopit Jan 17, 2010
By Phil I bought this game for some adult friends based on favorable reviews in our local newspaper. It's a good game, not great. It's easy to play - not a lot of time needed to read the rules, not a lot of set up time. I'll estimate kids as young as 8 could play. It's like Scrabble with lines instead of letters. The board is laid out similar to a Scrabble board. Each tile has a point value. The point values appear to be random- no relation to the difficulty of playing a tile. The player who goes first seems to have an advantage; in the games we've played the first player won or almost won all the games.
Overall, I'll give Loopit a mild recommendation.
