Great for creativity!! An instant classic!! Jun 10, 2008 This review applies for ALL the Zoob sets (large and small). (IMO) The inventor of Zoob is a genious! There are 5 different pieces or connector types which interlock with each other to form different kinds of joints. The first thing that my son made was a stick figure person whose arms and legs and body moved like real joints.
We now have ALL three of the major constructon/building toys -- Legos, K'nex and Zoob. So, I'd like to compare and contrast them for those who are wondering which one to invest in. All three have their pros and cons.
Zoob
-- Says for ages 6 and up but my 4 year old daughter can make the connections without any problem.
-- your creations are flexible
-- joint stay together well, will not fall apart
-- lifetime replacement for pieces (so they say)
-- don't need specialized pieces to build most creations
K'nex (regular, not kid k'nex)
-- Not so easy to snap the pieces for under 5-6
-- not flexible
-- sturdy (won't fall appart)
-- can be challenging
-- don't need specialized pieces to build most creations
Lego
-- easy to snap for 3+
-- not flexible
-- not sturdy (will fall apart easily)
I am now a zoob fan!!

This is an amazing building toy. Dec 19, 2006 I bought this for my son for Christmas just to have something different. We played with this the most! I knew nothing about them so snapping them together all the different ways was creative and fun. Then we realized that they can make noise and when snapped together a certain way they will slide open to extend and then push back to be small. They can make joints similar to a ball joint. The learning/creativity just goes on and on.My son has made patterns, art and bugs.I highly recommned this toy.
